What if you have sent an email from Gmail and immediately realized that you forget to add the attachment ? Or forget to add a person in Cc or To list ? Now you don’t have to worry about it, as new Gmail Undo feature will allow to recall the email immediately.
With this feature, you will get a time to recall the email using an Undo link (below screenshot). Continue reading about how this feature will actually work.
How Undo Gmail works ?
If you send a mail from Gmail, then Google mail wont send email immediately from there server but it will delay by few seconds (default 10 seconds). In meanwhile, they will provide an option to as Undo (above screenshot).
If you click on Undo link, sent email will be recalled and again appear in Create Mail screen. If you expedite wait time (10 seconds) of server, then email will be sent from Gmail server to recipient.
You can enable or disable this new Undo feature also change the wait time for server:
- Go to Gmail Settings.
- Scroll down to Undo Send and Enable or Disable.
- Change the Cancellation period time (wait time*).
- Click on Save Changes
Note and Conclusion:
Now you can recall and send updated email to recipient without worry.
*If you increase the wait time, then email sent will also be delayed accordingly. It is recommended to keep wait time upto 30 seconds.
