With the new iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6s on the market, it might be a question in the minds of many whether or not to upgrade or which one to buy.
So here is a detailed comparison between the two siblings from Apple to straighten out your thought process.
Built and Body:
Overall the both the devices have the same screen size and resolution. But the iPhone 6s is slightly thicker (7.1mm) compared to the iPhone 6(6.8mm). Hence, the 6s is also 14g heavier.
As far as design goes, the iPhone 6 and the 6s looks exactly the same. But a decent improvement is the use of 7000 series aluminum; this tackles the bending issues that the year-old iPhone 6 had.
The Apple 6s also has a 12MP main shooter and a 5MP selfie taker, which is a decent upgrade upon the previous 8MP and 1.2MP cameras.
Apple has also stated that they have worked extremely hard on the software end of iPhone 6s to make sure far better camera performances compared to iPhone 6.
Add on Features:
Again the 6s has a new software feature – Live Photos. Live Photos take a records video of one-second length right after and before you take a picture. This video then can be used to create animated imagery.
Video and Graphics of iPhone 6s:
Again the 6s along with the 6s plus, are the first Apple devices to shoot videos in 4k. But the main distinction between the two devices arises from the new 3D Touch Technology in iOS 9. 3D Touch can understand how much pressure is being applied on the screen which gives developers a whole new set of gesture to include into their apps. But with all these new features coming to the new Apple lineup, was it too difficult for Apple to increase the internal storage from 16 gigs to 32 gigs; after all Samsung and Sony are offering this.
Storage iPhone 6s:
The iPhone 6s just like its year old brother is available in a 16GB, 64GB and 128GB variant, and no you still don’t get a microSD slot.
Apple wants users to use iCloud- Apple’s online cloud storage system as an alternative for a microSD card. But this not an option for people on a poor 4G coverage or a limited monthly data cap. When will Apple understand that 32GB is quite a sweet spot for the general users?
So what do you say? Is the extra features buff what you needed? Or will the iPhone 6 be all that you need.
As far as taking advice from me, if 3D Touch didn’t impress you, and you think new apps using 3D Touch will take time to come out (which you are right?), then the 6s only scope of impressing you is the camera.
And if you are not those photography types and think the iPhone 6 is decent as it is, then choose – the iPhone 6.
Either way you will get the iPhone 6s at euro-539 for the 16 GB variant, and euro-619 and euro-699 for the 64GB and 128GB variant respectively.
